This lab analysis is for those liquid producers that would like an accurate reading of the alcohol content (ABV and ABW) in their product. This is applicable for beer, cider, kombucha, and spirits. Sample size requirements: Two duplicate 12 ounce containers (bottles, cans, collection vessel).
This analysis is for beer products only and for brewers wanting a TTB certified and notarized documentation for Alcohol by Weight (ABW)*, Alcohol by Volume (ABV) and Specific Gravity.
Sample size required: Two duplicate 12-ounce containers per analysis. Please consult with your legal counsel where and how these results should be submitted for interstate commerce.

This package will provide a comprehensive analysis for packaged beer products. Results will include ABV, ABW, Density, Specific Gravity, Original Gravity, Real Extract, Apparent Extract, Real Degree of Fermentation, Calories, Color, pH, Dissolved Oxygen, CO2, and Total Packed Oxygen (TPO). This package will provide a comprehensive analysis for packaged cider products. This package will determine how sour your beer is. It will provide a measurement for the total amount of acid present along with other important parameters about your product: ABV, ABW, Titratable Acidity in g/L Lactic Acid , pH, Specific Gravity, Density, and Color. Sample size required: Two 12oz. containers per analysis.
This package will provide a comprehensive analysis for Kombucha products. Samples can be taken from any stage of fermentation. Results will include ABV, ABW, specific gravity, CO2, pH, Calories, and Color. Sample size requirements: Two duplicate 12 ounce containers (bottles, cans, collection vessel).
This spectrophotometic analysis will determine the percent (%) alpha and beta acid content in a dried whole cone or pellet hop sample. It uses the ASBC's Hops 6A Method of Analysis. Sample size required: minimum 15 grams of a representative dried whole cone or pellet hop sample. Please note, whole cone hops must be at a moisture content between 8-11% or else to analysis cannot be performed.
This analysis determines the International Bitterness Units (IBUs) of your beer product. It uses the ASBC's Beer 23A Method of Analysis. Sample size required: two duplicate 12 oz. containers per analysis.
Diagnose and prevent brewhouse problems with a grist analysis. This service includes an analysis with the following sieve sizes: #10, 14, 18, 30, 60, 100. Sample size requirement: 1 pound of grist in a zip-lock bag.
This service option is perfect for the individual looking for a nutritional label for their beverage product (beer, cider, kombucha, juice, etc.). Results meet labeling requirements set by the FDA and include the following analyses: Ash, Moisture, ABV, Calories, Calories from Fat, Total Fat, Saturated Fat, Trans Fat, Cholesterol, Sodium, Total Carbohydrates, Dietary Fiber, Sugars, and Protein. Sample size required: two duplicate 12 oz. containers per analysis.
This analysis is for the customer looking to assess cell count numbers only or total plate counts (TPCs). Results reported are the total number of organisms in a 100mL sample. Samples are sterile membrane filtered and then grown on UBA (or another media upon request) under aerobic and anaerobic conditions. If the sample is unable to move through the filter then spread plate methods are utilized. Sample size requirements: Two 12 oz. duplicate containers per samples needing analyzed.
This analysis detects Lactobacillus and Pediococcus species in beer samples using Hsu's Lactobacillus and Pediococcus (HLP) media. Presence/absence results are provided for in-process and finished product samples. Sample size requirements: two duplicate 12oz. container per sample needing analyzed.
This comprehensive microbiological analysis utilizes sterile filtration and a variety of selective media in order to detect and quantify potential yeast and bacterial beer spoilers. A 100mL sample is filtered and grown on UBA, WLD, MRS (with cycloheximide), Lysine, and LWYM under aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Any growth is then catalase tested and gram stained. Results include total Colony Forming Units (CFUs) per 100mL sample, CFUs per growth formation and microscopic pictures of the growth. If samples have a high biological load or are unable to move through the filters, spread plate methods will be utilized. Sample requirements: three 12oz. duplicate containers per sample being analyzed.
Do you have an isolated bacterial culture that you'd like to know the identity of? If so than this analysis may be of interest to you. The MALDI Biotyper uses MALDI-TOF (Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization-Time of Flight) mass spectrometry to identify microorganisms by analyzing ribosomal proteins that create a unique fingerprint. Identification to the species level is achieved by comparing the sample fingerprint to a library of more than 5000 fingerprints. This analysis is for isolated bacterial cultures only due to the current limited yeast library. Isolated samples may be submitted on plate media or in broth media and must be shipped overnight on ice. Sample size requirements: One isolated sample shipped overnight.
This lab analysis utilizes the Pall Genedisc Cycler V3 Unit and Ultra-Lyser. Finished beer, yeast slurries, or any samples taken during fermentation can be analyzed. Pasteurization samples will need an additional enrichment step to increase sensitivity. See below for a list of species identified through this PCR analysis. Sample size required: four 12 oz. containers of finished product per analysis.
